The Lancaster and District Volunteer Centre
If you have questions to ask about volunteering, or you want to know what’s on offer or how it might fit in with your life – you’ve come to the right place.
We’re here to give information and advice to both potential volunteers and voluntary organisations needing help.
The list of voluntary opportunities is enormous: administration, animal care, befriending, catering, conservation work, community centres, counselling, culture, DIY, driving, education, fund-raising, gardening, homelessness… to name but a few.
You can browse our website, or talk by phone, email or in person to one of our volunteering co-ordinators.
Any activity in the community for which someone undertakes a specific task, but receives no payment, is voluntary work. Volunteers freely give their own time to a job without financial reward, and gain benefits including new skills, increased confidence, meeting people, and having fun.
